We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated in the Every Child Matters Awareness Walk & Gathering! This meaningful event brought us together to honor the survivors of residential and boarding schools while remembering those who never made it home and acknowledging the enduring impact on their families and communities.
As we reflect on our walk, we are filled with deep gratitude for our community and the powerful journey we undertook in support of Every Child Matters. Each step served as a reminder of the resilience of our ancestors and the ongoing challenges faced by our communities. We gathered not only to acknowledge the past, but also to affirm our commitment to healing, truth and reconciliation.
A special thank you goes out to our keynote speaker, Meg Singer, whose powerful words resonated with all of us. We are also grateful to the talented drummers and singers who shared their good medicine, enriching the experience for everyone present. A big shout-out to Miss Indian World, Kassie John, for her inspiring message of hope.
Through our shared journey, we remind ourselves that healing is an ongoing process. Together, we are taking significant strides toward awareness and reconciliation, ensuring that the voices of our children are never forgotten. Let us continue to walk hand in hand in solidarity, honoring our heritage while embracing the path to a more just and compassionate future.
Thank you for being part of this vital conversation. Every child matters, and together we will ensure their stories are told and their spirits honored.
