The Start UP Stars Entrepreneur Camp recently gave Native youth a fantastic chance to learn about business, and it all came together at UICSL’s 1st Annual Youth Arts Market. Over five days, the camp combined learning with hands-on experience, focusing on building self-confidence, financial skills, and creativity.
The camp was designed to create a supportive environment where the kids could learn about being entrepreneurs. They worked well together, showing great teamwork and communication. They were excited to make their own products and prepare for the big event.
Mentors from different backgrounds—young people, adults, and even grandparents—shared their experiences and advice on succeeding in business. This variety helped the campers understand different perspectives on entrepreneurship.
The campers faced challenges but, with support from staff and mentors, they worked through them and did a great job. At the Youth Arts Market, every camper sold out of their products, which was a huge success.
The smiles and happiness of the kids were a clear sign of their achievement. The coordinator was thrilled with the results and proud of how the campers shined. The event was a true celebration of their hard work and success.
